Trip to the Butterfly Garden
Mommy, Madeline spent a few days up in Purdys. We had lots of fun, especially at the Butterfly Garden. I was able to get a butterfly to land on my "gatorade lollipop", and one even landed on Madeline's shoulder! After that, we went to the Red Rooster for burgers and ice cream - a fun June outting on a rare non-rainy day.

the snow was a little too powdery to get nice packed walls, but we tried the best we could to build a nice fort out in the yard. every morning i go check out our work before i head off to school. we'll see how long it lasts, i'd love to keep it forever, but if it gets super warm this wknd and i can ride my bike, i think i'll be ok with a melted fort.

great class today... i love thursday's, always look forward to ballet. i did my own hair today and although i didn't let it bother me, the clip was falling out for most of the class. if you look at my forehead, that's the red clip dangling. but i didn't slow down. it didn't phase me... the show must go on! and then there's the pic of proud me next to my proud mommy...

A Morning in the Life of the Little Mommy

When I first get up in the morning, I head right into the nursery to check on Betsy. Then I push my stool over to the changing table and get her all cleaned up and back in her cozy jammies. Then we head downstairs for breakfast. Today I had cereal and strawberries and blueberries - yum! After that it's time to get dressed, and then I primp with mommy. I have to wash my messy face, put on my face lotion, brush my teeth and do my lipgloss (chap stick!!!). Oh, and then of course my hair... sometimes Mommy or Daddy give me piggies, but today I did my own hair. Isn't it "pretty and stylish"? Mommy calls this the Christmas Tree Look. All that and Daddy wonders why it takes me so long to get out the door, sheesh! Little Mommy's are busy little people! I didn't even have time for Sesame today... oh the sacrifices.

Practicing to be a Big Sister

Mommy's belly is getting SUPER HUGE which means my little brother or sister must be coming soon. This weekend Daddy put together the crib, and I helped Mommy get organized in the baby's room. I decided that Baby Betsy gets to sleep in there until the baby comes home, so every night I get her in her jammies, tuck her into the crib, and read her a book before Mommy and Daddy read me my books. I am such a good little Mommy, and I can't wait for MY baby to get here!

super bowl!

the half time show was super-cool, they had a "special" show we waited for, then watched in 3D. i didn't understand the word 3D but these things were flying out at me, it was crazy! my friends came over, we had a ton of fun all playing together all around our house, it was awesome!

camping day!

they have trees indoors at school, and a campfire (not a real one), and all kinds of camping stuff. i brought my camo case with my sleeping bag and my pink flashlight, and i wore my extra special glowing bug t-shirt from gramma and grampa. you can see from the look on my face that i am super-excited! that's all i kept saying, telling my teachers i was "super-excited!"

that's the name of the latest "they might be giants" album for kids. it's great, and today mommy and daddy took me to a concert where they played all those songs (and some old school tunes mommy and daddy enjoyed). oh it was awesome fun, the lights, the clapping, i got to scream at the end of the show, and then they came back out one more time (apparently called an "encore"). fun!

Ballet Class Show
Today was the last ballet class of the session, so all the parents were invited to come watch the little ballerinas show off their graceful moves. Gabi paid careful attention the entire time and tried so hard to do all her positions. She was glowing with pride at the end of the class! Mommy and Daddy are REALLY feeling like the parents of a little girl now!

Big Sister Practice On Sunday, cousin Nicholas and Baby Elena came to visit. Nicholas and I had lots of fun together at the pumpkin farm and playing with toys back at our house. But I was most excited to hold Baby Elena - I talked about it for days! I also found her toys to play with and tried to teach her how to play with them. You see, I'm practicing to be a big sister!!! Mommy and Daddy say I'll be the best big sister, despite the fact that my little sibling will NEVER get a word in!

First Day of School!

Today was my first day at my new school and I was so excited! Last night I picked out a special, new dress and Mommy gave me a new monkey backpack! This morning I got up early and got all ready, and even did my hair all by myself and put in 3 clips! Mommy went to Disney for work, and brought me back some treats from the boutique down there... my very own Tinkerbell purse, white dress-up gloves, and shoes. i LOVE hide and go seek. LOVE it. here i am with betsy, we're totally hidden in my roller coaster from daddy while he and i played hide & go seek this weekend... i have so many good spots.

cup on the head for apple juice
if you want water you put your cup on your shoulder, if you want apple juice cup goes on your head. of course, when you have your party hat on, that doesn't leave much room for cup placement... i'm seriously the most patient chick on the planet. i was the absolute LAST kid to get their juice. and unlike daddy, i waited and waited and appreciated my juice whenever it arrived.

i've already gotten to go to TWO birthday parties in the last few weeks! we're not talking boring parties either, we're talking kick-butt parties at indoor playgrounds that would make your head spin. this shot is from the third floor of a ridiculous tunnel/slide playground... yes, third floor!

spring planting!
in a effort to get a little jump on spring, daddy and i planted herbs today inside. we made a little pot, made holes, put seeds in each of the holes, and then we watered them. daddy says they should grow well pretty soon and we'll see sprouting...

my tuck
did you know that you can gain nearly 6 seconds per mile by utilizing a correct aero tuck position? daddy's new bike doesn't quite fit me perfect yet, but he was mumbling some stuff carbon blah blah, and all to mommy. i wanted a shot, so i jumped on, i can see myself on a sweet ride like this some day...

The Easter Bunny Came to Purdys!

We had so much fun decorating Easter eggs on Saturday. Then on Sunday, I got to find all the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid around the house. THEN, Carson came over and we hunted for eggs outside together. It was so much fun having my kissin-cousin to share the fun with!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Mommy and I made green cupcakes for my school St Patrick's Day Party and I got to do the sprinkles all by myself. I made sure each and every sprinkle was in the most perfect place. Tonight all my friends are coming over to my house for a big Irish dinner... I sure love a party so today is my kind of day!
